This is a UI design project for a mock company called Wayfarer. Wayfarer is an AI-powered trip-planning platform designed for adventurous travelers, particularly those aged 21 to 30, who seek unique and transformative travel experiences. While it doesn’t sell trips, flights, or accommodations, Wayfarer serves as an immersive research tool that helps users discover new destinations aligned with their passions and preferences. By analyzing past travel behavior and personal interests through sophisticated machine learning models, the platform curates compelling narratives, vibrant imagery, and insider tips that elevate travel planning into an inspiring journey of exploration. More than just suggesting places to visit, Wayfarer unveils hidden gems and lesser-known paths, igniting wanderlust and turning every interaction—every scroll and click—into the start of a new adventure.
The brief:
The Wayfarer website has been underperforming for a while now, and as the first step toward a full redesign, we want you to look through what we have and design a new homepage layout using existing assets. You’ll first sketch out your ideas and then digitize the layout using a tool of your choice. There are a lot of moving parts to Wayfarer’s service and a lot of information for users to navigate through. Gain an understanding of what’s on our homepage and figure out how it might be best organized. Then, create a mockup that reflects the brand’s identity, focusing on layout and structure using existing assets and text. The deliverable will be a mockup of a layout for Wayfarer’s homepage using existing assets.
